Designed by Kerry Goodwin

LTD ED 10

Inspired by a John Henry Dearle wallpaper of 1912, 212541 Leicester Archive II Wallpaper made by Morris and Co. (Colour: Woad and Sage), the design harks back to the romance of the medieval past. Gracefully arching leaves are punctuated by mid-scale blooms in this wallpaper produced in both dark and light colourways. In his design, Dearle used scrolling acanthus leaves with an underlay of smaller flowers and foliage (including carnations), with a dark ground, inspired by another acanthus design by Morris, Bachelors Buttons in 1892. Kerry places the micro acanthus leaves around the small egg shape, using Dearle’s cheerful blooms of yellow asters, their radiating petals beaming like the sun and woven among small red disc flowers.
