Amidst the succession of beautiful spring flowers, one that particularly catches the eye is the Snakeshead Fritillary. Famed for their unique chequered plum, pink or even white bell-shaped flowers, from which they derive their name, they grow on slender stems. Emma carefully loops these elegant stems around the egg to create a truly unique fritillary design, holding bell-shaped blooms softly flushed with rose-pink and carefully tubelined and painted with jet-black chequers. Often hidden within long grass around the edge of our woodland, they are thought to symbolise rebirth and new beginnings and resonate well with the spirit of Easter time.
