Design inspired by the north Rose Window of Notre-Dame, Paris. Construction of the Gothic cathedral took almost 200 years and the north Rose Window allows a divine light to pour into the cathedral in jewel-like tones above. Once opened, the Swiss-made Reuge movement softly plays Franz Peter Schubert's 'Ave Maria' Opus 52, No 6, in commemoration of members of the public singing the hymn, supporting one another, whilst the cathedral stood in flames on 15 April 2019. Miraculously the Rose Window remains intact, evoking a beautiful story of resilience and triumph.

The item is very beautiful and my wife loves it. However, the major criticism that we have is that the music is far too quiet and is played far too fast. It's supposed to be 'Ave Maria', not 'Flight of the Bumble Bee'. I just wish there were some way to slow it down, and to increase the volume.
