Seeking sustenance, Angel’s Bonnet is a small type of mushroom which has caps varying in colour from white to a darker grey-brown. They grow on trunks and large branches, and their presence is unmistakable, as is their smell that wafts gently across woodland in the warm, autumn breezes. To look at clumps of these small, white angels may give the appearance of minor works of art, but their medicinal perfume discourages thoughts of a tasty breakfast. Wisely so, as they are not edible but they can be enjoyed growing in the wild – or here in ceramic form.
