William Morris is synonymous with the Arts and Crafts Movement and was a leading textile designer and champion of traditional methods of production. His famous 1876 wallpaper design Pimpernel with its swirling tulips and complex structure made it the choice for Morris himself when decorating his dining room at Kelmscott House. With the arrival of March and springtime Rachel’s tulips are golden yellow, while her tiny pimpernels are pale blue, like the cool spring sky.
